OBJECTIVE

• To create development programmes on infrastructure and computer application linkage systems in the planning, implementation and preparation services of the Department;

• To set up computer linkage systems and services based on integrated and effective ICT in order to support the Department’s strategies and programmes;

• To develop and enhance the capability of the ICT system in line with the Department's long-term roles and goals  in the nation's development process;

• To determine the credibility of the ICT system according to the approved safety  or guaranteed safety level;

• To ensure competency and career development are planned and implemented in order to build “knowledgable workforce ” in keeping with the Department’s ICT strategy requirements.

FUNCTIONS

The functions of the Information Technology Division are to:

• Plan and implement the Department’s Information Technology Strategic Plans;

• Manage and coordinate the IT equipments and application systems and also the Department’s intranet and internet linkages;

• Provide adequate multimedia requirements for the usage in all programmes and activities of the Department;

• Ensure the integrity of the Department’s data base is always secured and reliable;

• Establish linkages and relations between the Departments and other government agencies in line with the Electronic Government's aspirations towards a high technological and electronic information environment.
