OBJECTIVE

To promote the image and interests of the Department of Information Malaysia internationally through its international relations services and efficient and effective marketing of Government information.

FUNCTIONS
The functions of the International Relations Division are to:

• Plan strategy concerning the involvement of the Department in the field of information at international level.

• Implement bilateral cooperation in the field of information between Malaysia and foreign countries.

• Provide secretariat services in the ASEAN affairs, bilateral and multi lateral relations that involve the Department.

• Plan and co-ordinate the implementation of ASEAN Committee’s projects and programmes on Culture and Information (ASEAN-COCI) at the international level.

• study the needs and the effectiveness of information material published by the Department for dissemination in foreign countries.

• Identifies the target group for dissemination of information in foreign countries.

• carry out information activities for the Communication and Education Sub-Committee under the UNESCO National Commission, Malaysia.
