OBJECTIVE

To promote the image and interests of the Department of Information Malaysia internationally through its international relations services and efficient and effective marketing of the Government's information.

FUNCTIONS
The functions of the International Relations Division are to:

• Plan strategies concerning the involvement of the Department in the field of information at international level.

• Implement bilateral cooperation in the field of information between Malaysia and foreign countries.

• Provide secretariat services in the ASEAN affairs, bilateral and multilateral relations that involves the Department.

• Plan and co-ordinate the implementation of ASEAN Committee’s projects and programmes on Culture and Information (ASEAN-COCI) at the international level.

• study the needs and the effectiveness of information materials published by the Department for dissemination to foreign countries.

• Identify the target groups for dissemination of information to foreign countries.

• carry out information activities for the Communications and Education Sub-Committee under the UNESCO National Commission, Malaysia.
